I saw Jim Holincheck in Chicago this week, and a group of us were talking about how we do change management for initiatives like strategic workforce planning. I’m a big advocate of the lighthouse approach, but Jim also suggested that leaders who are working to turn around their own business unit or group – they are a group open to creative new approaches to challenges. I think it’s a great point, and an option that all opportunistic workforce planners should remember. Any war stories of successes with workforce planning (or other workforce/talent initiatives) as an aid to business turnaround?
